# Rotate AppRole secret ID

POST https://api.ibee.co.in/v1/secret-store/identities/{identity_id}/rotate-secret-id

Generates fresh AppRole credentials. Available only for AppRole identities. Requires scope: secret-store.write.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — IBEE platform API token. Production tokens start with `ibee_prod_key_`; development tokens start with `ibee_dev_key_`. Use a token only with its matching gateway environment.

### Path parameters

- `identity_id` (string, required) — Secret Store application identity ID.

### Query parameters

- `workspace_id` (string, required) — The positive numeric workspace ID to scope this request to. Zero, negative, and non-numeric values are rejected.

### 200

Fresh AppRole access details returned successfully.

- `identity_id` (string, required)
- `auth_method` (enum, required)
  - Allowed values: `approle`, `kubernetes`
- `role_id` (string, optional, nullable) — AppRole role ID.
- `secret_id` (string, optional, nullable) — Fresh AppRole secret ID. Treat this value as sensitive.
- `secret_id_accessor` (string, optional, nullable)
- `openbao_role_name` (string, optional, nullable) — Kubernetes authentication role.
- `k8s_namespace` (string, optional, nullable)
- `k8s_service_account` (string, optional, nullable)

## Errors

### 401 Unauthorized Error

The API token is missing or invalid.

### 403 Forbidden Error

The token is not allowed to access the workspace or does not have the required scope.
